Our Philosophy at Sweet Hearts Patisserie is that it is always better to have a small bite of something heavenly, than an enormous portion of something so-so. A little bit of dessert everyday is certainly acceptable in any diet, and we strive to make that experience the best part of your day. We also believe that a pastry is a treat, and should look as good as it tastes, and taste as good as it looks. We make everything from scratch in our own kitchen, and use top quality fresh ingredients. Not only can you taste the difference, but you can feel good knowing that what you are eating is real food, made with loving hands.
About the Owner
Kristen (D’Angelo) Rowell is the pastry chef and owner of Sweet Hearts Patisserie. She grew up in Staten Island, NY, with a food-loving Italian family filled with great cooks. Her love of travel and adventure took Kristen to Aix-en-Provence, France for a semester abroad, where she fell in love with French food, pastries, and culture. After receiving a bachelor's degree from Hawaii Pacific University, Kristen studied Baking & Pastry Arts at The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, in Napa Valley, CA. After completing the program, she gained valuable experience working and staging in the kitchens of Thomas Keller, Gordon Ramsay, and several other restaurants and bakeries in New York and New Jersey.
